An exceptional multi-faceted performer rolled into one dynamic artist…young in years, timeless in talent. Because of his powerful, emotive voice and his ability to excel at pop, opera, rock, gospel, hip hop, blues, and country music, Ahmad was chosen to perform the operatic version of Samson & Delilah, a traditional song made famous by Bob Weir and The Grateful Dead. This song, along with others covering the full range of music genres, will be released in Ahmad’s new album, Unbound Dimensions, in 2024.
Ahmad was born in Louisville, KY where his mother and close family encouraged his passion for music, dance and theater. At the age of three, this passion earned him a place as a child actor at the Aronoff Center for The Arts. With commitment, diligence and excellence, he continued to rigorously practice and perfect his talents. Ahmad graduated from the prestigious high school, The Duke Ellington School of The Arts (Washington, DC), where his extraordinary talent landed him a multitude of performance opportunities, including participation in the international touring group “The Duke Ellington Show Choir”, opening for the National Symphony Orchestra and Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, and singing the national anthem at the Team USA Special Olympics Awards. Ahmad also won first place in the Virginia E. Williams Opera Prize Competition, the George Shirley Competition for African American Operatic and Negro Spirituals, and the DC Capital Stars Competition.
In 2022, Ahmad graduated from Lawrence University (Appleton, WI). While attending the university under the direction and teaching of John T. Holiday, world renowned counter tenor, he won prizes at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). He now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area where, in addition to his performing career, he offers vocal and acting coaching to individuals across the United States, including appearances as a masterclass instructor at the Soar Voice Intensive, alongside operatic tenor Aaron D. Crouch.
When Ahmad performs, his soul emits pure love, joy, and freedom, his spirit inspires, and he opens a world of hope and light to those touched by his voice and presence.
