Jim Ballard is a performing artist, teacher, and choreographer. Born in Odessa, Texas, he moved to Oregon where he found his love for dancing and teaching while attending Lane Community College in Eugene. After college, his performance career continued with Dance Ability International, Ballet Fantastique, the Shedd Institute for the Arts, and Opera San Jose. Jim brings all of his passion and experience to the classroom. Students are taught technique as well as how to have commanding stage presence. Character development, focus and silliness are key components that Jim focuses on regardless of experience.
Jim helped to choreograph and danced with his dance partner, Tracy Fuller, in the operatic version of the “Samson & Delilah” music video with singer Ahmad Allen, to be released in 2024. He will also be joining Ahmad and Tracy in the pop opera concert performance of this song.
